It’s impossible to talk about the history and development of dubstep without mentioning Skream. As one of the pioneers of the genre, Skream started out his musical career at the age of just 15 but by the time he turned 20 he had helped to change the course of music. With other dubstep forefathers such as Hatcha and Benga, Skream helped to lay the groundwork in the early 2000’s for the now immensely popular genre.
Originally focusing on the “darker” side of Dubstep, Skream expanded his sound to feature more melodic flavors and sounds from around the world including Jamaican dance hall beats and Kraftwerk melodies. Having released two full lengths, over 10 EPs and countless other singles, Skream comes ready to party with countless tracks of dubstep genius.
